Ballycastle Museum is housed in the listed 18th century courthouse and market building in the town centre. Visitors to the accredited museum can explore the permanent display of the fascinating history of the Irish Home Industries workshop, its role in the 1904 St Louis World Fair and the Arts and Crafts Revival in Ireland. Highlights also include Bronze Age archaeology, Boyds 18th century Ballycastle and the magnificent Taise Banner from the first Feis na nGleann in 1904.

*Please note that the Ballycastle Museum open season usually begins at the Easter weekend. This year, site investigations ahead of a planned museum restoration, extension, and refurbishment project supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund has meant that the museum will not open until June 2024. Please feel free to contact us at museums@causewaycoastandglens.gov.uk if you have any queries or concerns.*

Easter weekend: Easter Saturday 10am-5pm; Easter Sunday & Monday 2pm-5pm 

April–June: Friday & Saturday 10am-5pm; Sundays 2pm-5pm

July–August: Monday-Saturday 10am-5pm; Sunday 2pm-5pm

September: Friday & Saturday 10am-5pm; Sundays 2pm-5pm

October–March: Closed.

Please note that from Easter until the end of June and in September, the Museum is opened thanks to the generosity of the Friends of Ballycastle Museum who volunteer their time.
