Story Finders began in 2006 as a pilot project supported by BBC Northern Ireland, BT, Department of Finance & Personnel and NICVA. The aim was to enable people across Northern Ireland to share their own personal stories and those of their community. These stories now feature here on the Story Finders website in words, photography, video, poetry, art work and music.
Story Finders groups have been set up in the six counties of: Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Londonderry and Tyrone. Each group is involved in developing their own independent website, which belongs to their community and reflects stories from their local area.

Some of the storytellers who contributed to the Story Finders project also had their stories featured on BBC radio and television programmes. To view some examples click here Each Story Finders group is based at a Story Finders Centre. Details of these centres can be found on the home page of each group's site. Each centre has a Story Finders computer which has internet access and editing software, as well as audio and visual recording equipment. This is YOUR chance to get involved……… If you enjoy sharing a good story with family and friends, or if you think you could motivate and inspire people in your community to share stories, then register your interest by sending an email or writing to your nearest Story Finders group (visit their individual websites for contact details).
